About Us

Welcome to my site. I named KB Custom Framing & Gallery after my two kids: Kenneth and Kelsey Bunker. I am a certified framer and have a Bachelors in Business and an Art Minor, some classes at PNWCA, and from Mt. Hood as well. My resume includes: working as a freelance graphic artist and illustrator and as a color technician, pre-press technician, and layout and camera for a large commercial printer.

I love my job because, as an artist myself, I know that the right frame can make all the difference to any visual work of art. Most important, the part you don't see, is how the art is put in or attached, there are different ways to best place an object, sometimes envelopes just holding in place, or the use of linen tapes, of mulberry paper and rice starch.  Conservation of the art should be reversible years later and preserved the art completely.  Using Ph neutral buffered material, or cotton rag is a good start to slowing the breakdown over time of any acid reaction of a pulp material.  With a conservation glass with a good UV blocking grade the light damage can be diminished.Frames
